Picking the right event
- Check the age band, not just the date. The band predicts the room better than the venue does. Chicago fills 20s and 30s bands fastest; the over-40 bands run monthly.
- Book early. Men's and women's tickets sell out unevenly; an event can be sold out for you while half-empty for everyone else.
- Mind the geography. Most events run in River North, the West Loop, or Lincoln Park on weeknights. Suburban events exist (Eventbrite lists them for Naperville and Schaumburg) but run less often; most suburbanites just come in.
